For a century, Review Publishing Co (est 1923), New Zealand’s leading B2B publisher, has been a media solutions provider to industry sectors providing in-depth, insightful coverage from an experienced team of journalists, editors and marketers.

Recognised as the oldest privately-owned magazine publishing company still operating in New Zealand, its founders, in 1923, were the Barker family, who had created Foodstuffs the year prior. In the 1940s, their “GrocerGram” magazine was taken over by NARGON (The National Association of Retail Grocers & Supermarkets of NZ) and run by another Barker family member, Reg Barker.

Peter Mitchell purchased the company from NARGON in 1973, adding it to his existing publishing business, including the highly successful New Zealand fashion magazine NZ Apparel.

Review Publishing has been publishing in the food and beverage sector since 1923, branching into, among other sectors, food service in 2000 and then the hotel industry in 2014.

Peter, an experienced journalist with over 40 years of experience in the New Zealand food industry, received many awards and acknowledgments over his career, including being one of the first recipients of the Food & Grocery Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the industry. (He was also the only recipient to win this award twice).

Sadly Peter passed away in 2022. However, the company remains privately owned by the Mitchell family and operates with five family members amongst its 14 editorial, content creation, marketing and production staff.

The stable of business-to-business magazines includes HOTEL, SupermarketNews, Restaurant & Café, Educatering, AgedPlus Village Business, FB Tech, Marae Supplies & Resources and Apparel. These b2b publications and platforms are a reputable, trusted resource for each business sector. Included in the lineup is also the online e-zine for Fennec & Friends.

The industry agrees that the idea of quantity over quality is long gone. There was a period when more stories equalled more hits equalled more income, but that has long since passed. The requirement has only grown for quality editorial and originality of content combined with intelligent curation and editing – in other words – good journalism.

We have been curating excellent content since 1923. We have consistently delivered outstanding results to our clients. We have grown and developed partnerships in each industry sector we cover.

Clients will find no better place to share important news about their brand than our business-to-business publications. When confidence in the depth of coverage, truthfulness, and credibility is required, only one b2b publisher delivers.
